History of Gaylord Mumbai

It started its operation as a restaurant in the year 1950 but before that at around 1940’s it was the “Maison Vienna's Blue Gardenia”.  The place was brought by partner duo Ghais and Lambas, and they started a restaurant with best continental and north Indian cuisine as their restaurant’s special menu. 

Since then, Gaylord Mumbai has reserved a special place in the culinary culture of “amchi Mumbai” as well as for the guests of Mumbai.

Present Status of the Gaylord Restaurant

The restaurant has taken a new ultra-modern look but its food culture and its special taste has been maintained strictly by its kitchen. Maintaining its ancestry of food culture till date Gaylord Mumbai is famous for its continental and North Indian cuisines. 

The resto-bar can accommodate 250 people inside at a time for food and drinks. The restaurant plays soft music as a source of gala entertainment of the guests. Built on a grand royal building at the downtown of the city of Mumbai, the restaurant, Gaylord Mumbai, houses a small gift and souvenir shop. The restaurant remains open 24x7 days between 12.30 pm and 11.30 pm.

Special Delicacies of Gaylord Mumbai Presently the head chef of this resto-bar is Sultan Mohideen. Besides it Mumbai famous butter chicken, the chef has introduced here some special delicacies of Awadhi and Hyderabad like Taar Gosht, Tomato cut, and Galoti Kebabs, which has immediately grabbed attention of foodies from Mumbai and outside of Mumbai.

Another attraction of Gaylord Mumbai is its bakery shop. Besides 20 different types of breads, the shop sales varieties of pastries, muffins, rolls and an entire lot of scrumptious bakery delicacies. Customers can take away these superbly baked items or can enjoy the foods at the adjacent garden patios and with Gaylord special Kona coffee.
