Delicacies sold on the streets of Mumbai other than Vada Pav are Pani Puri, Sev Puri, Bhel Puri, Ragda Patties, Dahi Puri, Sandwiches, Idlis, Dosas, Chinese Bhel, Kebabs, Omlette Pav, Fried Fish, Chinese delicacies like Chowmein, Chilli Chicken and many more dishes catering to the cosmopolitan crowd residing in or visiting the city. Besides, sweets like Gola (crushed ice cones dabbed in syrup) and Kulfi (ice cream cone), fruit juices and milk shake stalls, sugarcane juice vending stalls, tea stalls and paan shops (betel leaf) are found in every nook and corner of Mumbai’s streets.
Street food stalls are commonly found in Khau Galli, Girgaum Chowpatty which is famous for Kulfi, Bhel Puri and Paani Puris, Nariman Point and several areas within Mumbai. It is a delight to savour the yummy snacks under street lights and halogens brightly lit from the canopies of the stalls. Local vendors make good business during lunch hours when half of Mumbai’s workforce descends on the streets to indulge in the delicacies.
