History of Gaylord Mumbai

Like its yummy butter chicken this grand resto-bar has a tasty history of its own. It started its operation as a restaurant in the year 1950 but before that at around 1940’s it was the “Maison Vienna's Blue Gardenia”. The place was brought by partner duo Ghais and Lambas, and they started a restaurant with best continental and north Indian cuisine as their restaurant’s special menu. Since then, Gaylord Mumbai has reserved a special place in the culinary culture of “amchi Mumbai” as well as for the guests of Mumbai.

Present Status of the Gaylord Restaurant

The restaurant has taken a new ultra-modern look but its food culture and its special taste has been maintained strictly by its kitchen. Maintaining its ancestry of food culture till date Gaylord Mumbai is famous for its continental and North Indian cuisines. There is a bar inside the restaurant which keeps a good stock of quality hard liquors as well as soft drinks.

The resto-bar can accommodate 250 people inside at a time for food and drinks. The restaurant plays soft music as a source of gala entertainment of the guests. Apart from in-house dining, there is provision of outdoor catering and banquet party arrangement and business conferences.

Built on a grand royal building at the downtown of the city of Mumbai, the restaurant, Gaylord Mumbai, houses a small gift and souvenir shop. Besides its truly continental foods, this gift shop is one of the prime attractions for the foreign tourists for collection of Indian mementos for their visit to Mumbai city. The restaurant remains open 24x7 days between 12.30 pm and 11.30 pm.

The restaurant displays a unique combo of classy and chic style and a formal ambiance that perfectly fits for family enjoyment. The restaurant has both AC and non Ac sitting arenas. Special Delicacies of Gaylord Mumbai Presently the head chef of this resto-bar is Sultan Mohideen. Besides it Mumbai famous butter chicken, the chef has introduced here some special delicacies of Awadhi and Hyderabad like Taar Gosht, Tomato cut, and Galoti Kebabs, which has immediately grabbed attention of foodies from Mumbai and outside of Mumbai.

Another attraction of Gaylord Mumbai is its bakery shop. Besides 20 different types of breads, the shop sales varieties of pastries, muffins, rolls and an entire lot of scrumptious bakery delicacies: the freshness, the taste, and the softness of bakery items, the Gaylord Bake Shop is undoubtedly matchless and comprehensively unrivaled in its own category.
