Essel World needs no introduction for that matter, the amusement park was one of the first ones to be established in India, along with Water Kingdom, and still grows on popularity. Essel World is an amusement park situated in Gorai, Mumbai, India. The park was established by the Pan India Paryatan Pvt. Ltd. in the year of 1986. 

The Essel World park is located on a land of 64 acres  of total area and considered as the largest theme park in India. Essel World is regarded as the one and only amusement park in India built with international standards. 1.8 million of visitors are arriving to this famous entertainment destination in Mumbai every year. 

Pan India Paryatan and Essel World

Pan India Paryatan Limited (PIPL) is a part of the Essel group of companies, Mumbai. The Essel World and Water Kingdom are the two major amusement parks in the commercial capital of India, which are owned by this group. 

In the year of 1986 the Essel group of companies introduced a new hub of leisure destination and a new way of entertainment to Mumbai by opening the largest amusement park in India, the Essel World.  The Pan India Paryatan Limited provides facilities in international scale and keeps the park hygiene throughout the year.

Important Attractions in Essel World

The Essel World theme park is famous about their comprehensive collection of rides, which suite alike to kids, adults and aged. The thirteen wonderful family rides available in the park make it the best place in Mumbai to have some relaxing time with the family.

Nine varieties of thrill rides provided in the park are found as the favorite ride of the hundreds of youth visiting the park every day. There are nine children’s rides also provided in Essel World, which turns every kid visiting the park into the frequent visitor of Essel World.

The park incorporates the conventional rides along with the new innovative rides such as ice skating rink provided in 3400 square feet in the Essel World. The ice skating rink kept in a constant temperature of 4 degree Celsius in the Essel World and is the first ever ice skating rink opened in Mumbai.

Dancing on the dance floor made up of glass, colored background lights and the high definition audio system is always pointed out as one of the most enjoyed moments in the park by the teenagers visiting the park every year.

The restaurants working within the boundaries of the park are capable of providing different kinds of dishes including south Indian, north Indian and foreign cuisines. 

Special Rides in the Essel World

Monsters in the Mist

Monsters in the Mist, is the most popular adrenaline pulling ride provided in the Essel World. The ride was inaugurated by the well known host and actor Ranvijay in the year of 2010. The ride is called as the scariest ride in India.

The ride last for a total of four minutes uses 6000 square feet area and a track and car system to provide an adventurous experience of driving in the mist and dense darkness. The Attraction Factory, an American based international dark attractions manufacturer designed the Monsters in the Mist for the Essel World.

Ice-skating Zone

Mumbai’s first ever ice skating facility has opened in the Essel World recently to provide the complete entertaining atmosphere in the park. The skating zone helps in making the people in Mumbai familiar with the foreign sport, ice skating.

The skating zone in the Essel World has maintained in a constant temperature of 4 degree Celsius. The 3,400 sq. ft of ice zone provided in the park is considered as one of the best place in the park to release the stress and tensions by the visitors.

Water Kingdom

India’s largest water pool, the water kingdom is one of the major attractions in the Mumbai city itself. The pool and the theme park is a part of the Essel World and both Essel World and Water kingdom is owned by the Pan India Paryatan Limited.

The pool spreads over an area of 30,000 sq feet. The varieties of water rides provided in this largest water theme park makes an experience of being in a wonder world for a day. There are three big swimming pools and a separate swimming pool for children in this water world. The site is active for all the 365 days of the year.

Movie Shooting at Essel World

Essel World and Water Kingdom had to be the background location for a no. of Bollywood movies so far.  Many of the celebrities in the Indian film industry and production houses have conducted the shoot in the well maintained locations of the Essel World.

Timing and the Season to visit the Essel world

The park remains open for all the 365 days of the year. On the regular days Essel world opens at morning 10 A.M and closes at 6:30 P.M and during the festive season, the park will opens at 10 A.M and closes by 8 P.M. Summer holy days (April, June), Diwali holidays (November), Christmas holidays (December, January) are the major festive seasons in Essel world. 

During the season of monsoon (June, September) the park opens one hour later than the regular timing on weekdays and closes one hour early on the weekend days.

Rides and Rates in Essel World

There are three major categories of rides in Esselworld, the family rides, adult rides and children’s rides. The high thrill rides such as cyclone, Rainbow, Thunder, Enterprise, Aqua dive, Rock n roll, Slippery Sultan, Hoola Loop, Slam Bob and Super Tele Combat are the major adult rides in Esselworld.

The Big Apple, Mini Tele Combat, Happy Sky, Rio Grand Train, Yard Train and Convoy Track are the interesting rides designed in the park, especially for children, when the aqua dive, crazy cups, hedge maze, zipper dipper and virtual world are provided as family rides. The visitors are allowed to use all the rides in the park except coin games, by purchasing the entry ticket.
