Documents required for filing case in Consumer Court
In order to lodge a complaint file for decision of consumer court, a consumer has to furnish some documents. These are:- The consumers must submit the proof of purchase of goods/services from a retail unit/business organization.
- The consumer must confirm that entirely the related facts for providing support for the case filed are evidently and explicitly stated in the complaint.
- The petitioner shall submit the complaint in the district forum under the jurisdiction the opposition party is residing or running his office/retail, wholesale shop or within whose jurisdiction the cause of complaint has arisen. The consumers should confirm that prescribed fee is paid via crossed Demand Draft / or Indian Postal Order in favor of Mumbai Consumer Court.
- The complaint is introduced in the proper forum within the stipulated period of 2 years from the date of cause of action.
- The last paragraph of the complaint should include the Prayer Clause, the relief, compensation etc. pursued from the concerned Forum.
Fees required for consumer court Mumbai
There are different slabs for consumer court fees. A consumer lodging a complaint needs to submit the requisite fees along with the fee.- Upto one lakh rupees – For complainants who are under the Below Poverty Line holding Antyodaya Anna Yojana Cards-Nil
- Upto one lakh rupees – For complainants other than Antyodaya Anna Yojana card holders-Rs.100
- Above one lakh and upto five lakh rupees-Rs.200
- Above five lakh and upto ten lakh rupees-Rs.400
- Above ten lakh and upto twenty lakh rupees0Rs.500
